YWCA Greenwich recently announced that Jill Blomberg will be the recipient of their 2024 Purple Ribbon Award which will be presented at YWCA Greenwich’s Annual Candlelight Vigil on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 pm at the YWCA Greenwich.
The Purple Ribbon Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the lives of domestic violence survivors in our community.
Attorney Blomberg, a partner at Schoonmaker George, has been working with YWCA Greenwich’s Harmony Project staff since 2018, providing guidance on how domestic violence plays out in civil and family court cases and how abusive partners are able to use the legal system against victims.
“Over the years, Jill has become a vital ally, making life-saving referrals to the Harmony Project for survivors of domestic violence. Clients share how Jill understands and validates their safety concerns. We congratulate Jill Blomberg on this well-deserved honor and thank her for her dedication to survivor support” said Harmony Project Director Jessie DiMuzio.
In addition to the presentation of the Purple Ribbon Award, YWCA Greenwich will memorialize the 26 people who lost their lives to domestic violence in Connecticut last year, as well as honor the strength and resilience of survivors. The Candlelight Vigil is a free community event.
If you or someone you know has experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, and need help and support, please call Harmony Project’s 24 hour hotline at 203-622-0003.
